The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is just a month away from now. The biggest T20 event is finally being organised after five years and the build-up around the same is unmatchable as teams from around the world will compete for ultimate glory. ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will get underway from 17 October, with teams competing for the Super 12 fixtures that will begin from 23 October. India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group and will play their first game against each other on the 24th.

As few teams, including New Zealand and Australia, have already announced their respective squads for the marquee event, India are yet to pick their squad that will play in the event.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set 10 September as the deadline for squad announcement so India will have to come up with the final squad before that. As per a recent revelation by Sports Tak, Indian selectors are likely to announce India’s squad for ICC T20 World Cup after the completion of the fourth Test against England i.e. after 6 September. Earlier, it was speculated that the BCCI selection panel led by Chetan Sharma would announce the squad in the first week of September.

Who all are expected to make the cut?

Even though the Indian selectors haven’t yet cleared their stance on India’s final squad for the multifaceted tournament, so many probable squads have been already picked by cricket experts. Few obvious names looked common among many squads, while some came up with out-of-the-box names. Harsha Bhogle, probably the best reader of the game, picked his squad in which he left out Shikhar Dhawan and Kuldeep Yadav and preferred youngsters like Suryakumar Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy.

Zaheer Khan also went with a similar kind of squad with Rohit and Rahul as openers and Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy ahead of Kuldeep Yadav. Former Delhi cricketers Ashish Nehra and Virender Sehwag announced their Playing XI for the T20 World Cup where they went with Rohit and Rahul as openers, Kohli, SKY, and Rishabh as middle-order batters, Hardik and Jadeja as all-rounders, Bhuvneshwar, Bumrah, Chahal, and Sundar as their bowlers. However, as Sundar has been ruled out due to an injury, Ravi Ashwin’s name has also started to surface up.
