Who did Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Sunil Chhetri and others vote for in FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award 2021?

There were some extremely exciting votes casted by few captains/coaches of national teams.

After breaking numerous records last year, Robert Lewandowski won FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award 2021 during a ceremony held in Zurich, Switzerland on January 17. The Polish striker received the highest number of votes and narrowly defeated Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah in a close contest. The points for top 3 were as follows:

Robert Lewandowski – 48 points

Lionel Messi – 44 points

Mohamed Salah – 39 points

After the results were announced on Monday, the list of votes casted by all the captains/coaches of national teams is also out. The fans were eagerly waiting to see who the top players voted for during the whole process and some of the outcomes are indeed quite interesting.

Here is the list of top three (in the same order) selected by few big players:

Cristiano Ronaldo: Robert Lewandowski, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho

Notably, the top three players are awarded 5 points, 3 points and 1 point, respectively. While Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi continued the recent trend of not voting for each other, India’s captain Sunil Chhetri chose Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Jorginho as his top three.

Among the coaches, the common practice of giving the first vote to a player of their own national team was once again followed. Some of the votes were as follows:
