Indian weightlifter Ajay Singh, who is the two-time Commonwealth Championships gold medalist, missed the chance to secure India's seventh medal in the Birmingham Games 2022. The 25-year-old Indian weightlifter made a combined lift of 319 kg but his massive efforts were not enough to win a medal in Men's 81 kg category.

Ajay Singh, who holds a national record in Snatch round of 146 kg in the 2021 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is employed by the Army and trains at the Army Sports Institute in Pune, Maharashtra.
