India registered their second successive win of the series against New Zealand on Friday as they handed the Kiwis a 7-wicket defeat in the second T20I of the three-match series on Friday. With this, they have assured themselves of a series win with a match to go.

During the match at the JSCA Stadium, Ranchi, India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant was seen wearing a tape on his jersey which have prompted the fans to wonder the reason behind the strange move and the real reason has now been revealed. Pant had worn the T20 World Cup to the ground and had in fact used the tape to hide the logo of the ICC event which was recently won by Australia.

The remaining players were playing with the normal jersey and even had the sponsor's logo in the front part which was missing from Pant's shirt as is the norm during ICC events. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for India on his debut and was even adjudged the Player of the Match award.

AB de Villiers' advice would stay with me throughout my career: Harshal Patel

After the match, Harshal disclosed that South African legend AB de Villiers has had a great impact on his career.

"AB has had a massive impact on my career. I have always been a silent observer of him. Recently when we were starting our campaign in the UAE I asked him, ‘How do I reduce my big overs? I have bowled 12-15 even 20-run overs in the IPL so how should I reduce those?’ So he told me, ‘When a batsman hits your good delivery, you shouldn’t change that," Patel said after winning the award for his performance in the second T20I.

"'You should constantly force the batsman to hit your good deliveries only. If you get hit once on a good delivery then if you change it, the batsman is already expecting that.’ That is something that stayed with me throughout the second leg of IPL and will stay with me throughout my career," he added.

The teams will now head to the Eden Gardens, Kolkata for the final T20I which will be followed by two Test matches.
