Why is Mayank Agarwal not playing tonight against RCB?

The 26th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League is currently taking place between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both the teams have made changes in their playing XI. While Punjab has dropped Mayank Agarwal, Henriques and Arshdeep Singh to include Meredith, Prabhsimran and Harpreet, Shahbaz has replaced Washington Sundar for Bangalore. However, it was Mayank’s exclusion that made headlines when the skippers were there for the toss.

The Punjab captain KL Rahul has revealed the reason behind his not playing in today’s game.  KL Rahul said in the toss, “We have always found ourselves in this position, we just have to go out there and put up a show tonight. We have three changes. Henriques and Arshdeep are out, Mayank is not feeling too well as he got hit in the last game.

Notably Mayank Agarwal got hit on the hand while batting against Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game on Andre Russell’s delivery.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bowl first in the ongoing match. Considering their current form, they are ready to give a tough fight to Punjab. Captain Virat Kohli also revealed that Sundar didn’t fit in the combination of today’s game.

“More confident now, we gonna bowl first. So the game last night, short boundary on one side. The pitch was two paced last night, so we want to bowl first. Shahbaz comes in for Sundar looking at the composition of their side.”
