The flamboyant batter Rishabh Pant has been one of the finest players of the Indian team for the last few years. However, his form has been on a downtrend in 2022. Although was handed an opportunity to lead India in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against South Africa, he has managed to score only 57 runs in four innings. His latest score read 17 off 23 balls.
The social media platform Twitter has emerged as a platform for discussing Rishabh Pant’s poor form over the past week.
The former cricketers had also opined on the performances of Rishabh Pant in the series. Ahead of the 4th T20I, Irfan Pathan had said that the 24-year-old’s number in T20Is needs to be improved. Wasim Jaffer reckoned that Pant did not look at his natural self in the IPL and in the ongoing T20I matches as well and thinks the wicketkeeper needs to score runs in a consistent manner for selection into the T20 World Cup team.
Love Rishabh pant as a cricketer but his t20 international numbers need to get better…

Wasim Jaffer said"I am not too sure, with the way Rishabh Pant has played recently. I think he still needs to score runs and score consistently"(to ESPN Cricinfo).#RishabhPant #TeamIndia #SAvIND #INDvSA #CricketTwitter #CricSoft pic.twitter.com/ZSKtKZhKDw

One of the fans thinks Rishabh Pant is the best choice for the longest format but lacks potency in the T20 format.
In search of Rishabh Pant we lost Dinesh Karthik & Sanju Samson.
Time slowly underlining that.
BCCI became blind, and they went after Pant for all formats.
He is the best test wicket keeper batter for India, but unfortunately not in White ball cricket #INDvsSA

Most of the people following the game have compared Rishabh Pant to his peers and think that there are many wicket-keeper batters, who can be a possible replacement.
So many wicketkeepers in contention for team India for T20 World Cup.
Team India can afford to go Pant-less to Australia.#INDvSA

I think it's time to keep @IamSanjuSamson as a permanent WK batsman in limited overs cricket considering Rishabh Pant's 48 matches AVG is 23 and SR is 128. No hate against @RishabhPant17 but Someone else deserving should get chances too. #INDvSA #SanjuSamson #RishabhPant #Hardik pic.twitter.com/RP1YnOsUyF
