The ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has produced some mouth-watering action for cricket fans across the globe. Despite the absence of some key players from both sides, the youngsters have not failed in putting up a spectacle for the viewers. Although Shikhar Dhawan's side completely outplayed the Lankans in the 1st ODI, the home side did show a lot of fight, grit and character in the previous match.

But despite the heroic spell of Wanindu Hasaranga, the Men in Blue went on to win the match on the course of Deepak Chahar's 69* run knock and sealed the ODI series. With the series done and dusted, the final ODI becomes a dead rubber. However, there is still a lot to play for both sides as they would want to give chance to a few new faces before the action shifts to the shortest format of the game.

Weather forecast for 3rd ODI is not very ideal

It seems like the rain gods have switched their focus to the 3rd ODI between India and Sri Lanka. The match is scheduled to be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and the action is slated to begin at IST 3:00 PM onwards. However, it is very unlikely that the action will be able to begin on time due to the continuous rainfall which is predicted to begin from morning onwards.

IST 8:00 AM - Temperature: 27 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 73%

IST 11:00 AM - Temperature: 28 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 69%

IST 2:00 PM - Temperature: 28 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 75%

IST 5:00 PM - Temperature: 27 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 80%

IST 8:00 PM - Temperature: 27 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 75%

IST 11:00 PM - Temperature: 27 ° Celsius, Probability of rain: 79%

Can we have a shortened game on Friday?

While it is quite unlikely that the fans will be able to witness a full 50-over game in Colombo on Friday. However, there are chances that rain might stop in between, opening up an opportunity for a shortened game. But taking the time required to remove the water from the outfield into consideration, the chances are very bleak for the 3rd ODI to be completed. Only if the rain gods show some mercy, there is an outside chance for a game to take place but otherwise we are heading towards an abandoned game.
