SunRisers Hyderabad will begin their campaign in the second leg of IPL 2021 on 22 September against the mighty Delhi Capitals. The Orange Army had a horrible first phase as they lost six out of the seven games they played and as a result, sit at the bottom of the points table. Nothing seemed to work for them. David Warner was sacked mid-way from captaincy but that did not change the fortunes as well.

With the second leg to take place in the UAE, the Williamson-led SRH will try to turn things around. Although a place in the playoffs is nothing more than a dream for them, their spinner Rashid Khan says that they will treat every game as the final and put in 100% effort in all games. When asked about how he is looking at the second half of this season he replied, “Yes, we did not have an ideal first half of the competition in India, but looking forward to the second half. We are united and looking forward to finishing off well. Take every game as final for us and give 100%”.

Rashid also shed some light on his batting skills and how he is looking to help his team whenever there is an opportunity. “From the last one and half years, I have been working on my batting when the team needs some extra 20-25 runs. They are very crucial for the team in setting the target and while chasing as well. So, just trying different things. It’s just about having that kind of mindset like wherever I hit the ball, I want to finish well,” he said.

Middle-order woes for SunRisers

Rashid Khan did not do much wrong in the first half. He took crucial wickets and even when he did not take a wicket he made sure to not concede a lot of runs. What troubled Hyderabad was their middle-order failing to perform. Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, all struggled to score runs at crucial junctures which eventually led to Hyderbad’s downfall. With Bairstow gone, once again the onus will be on Warner and Williamson to steer the team over the line.
