After an astounding French Open, tennis fans are all waiting with bated breath to welcome Wimbledon. The Wimbledon Championships are all set to begin on June 28 in England. Although every year tournament people look forward to this tournament, the 2021 edition of the competition holds special significance since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the Grass Court slam last year.

However, it isn’t all good news this year as the tournament will miss several of the top players at this year’s competition after the likes of Rafael Nadal, Naomi Osaka, defending women’s singles champion Simona Halep, Dominic Thiem and Milos Raonic confirmed that they won’t be taking part in this edition of the Wimbledon due to varying reasons.

Nevertheless, the likes of defending men’s champion Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer will feature in the tournament and are also in the same draw implying they could potentially meet one another sooner than later. While Djokovic is the top seed for the championships, eight-time champion Federer was originally seeded sixth but Thiem's departure has handed him the sixth seed.
