American Tennis star Venus Williams has made her return to Wimbledon this year, after being away from the women’s tour for over a year. She featured in the mixed doubles event alongside Jamie Murray who is the elder brother of British tennis star Andy Murray. The duo started their All England Open campaign with a win.

As they were attending a press conference after their first-round victory, Venus Williams and Murray were asked by a journalist “Are you in it to win it, or is the first target just to get past the third round where Serena and Andy came a cropper?”

Jamie Murray answered with a laugh and said, “We’re better than that, come on.” However, Venus didn’t like the question and was quick to express her disappointment at this kind of question. She said, “What kind of question is that?” She added on, sarcastically saying “We’re in it for a stroll. Come on.”

The reporter then asked another question and said, “Are you in it for the experience, or are you in it to go all the way?” Venus was once again  ready with an answer as she said,   “Are you going to write a good article or a halfway decent one?” Jamie Murray couldn’t stop smiling at this response as Williams shut down the reporter.

This is the second time a Williams-Murray duo has teamed in the mixed doubles in recent years when the younger siblings Serena and Andy came together in the 2019 edition of the tournament.
