It will be a do-or-die game for Smriti Mandhana-led Trailblazers when they meet upbeat Velocity in their second game of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2022. After facing a big defeat against Supernovas, Trailblazers have dented their chances to qualify for the final. Meanwhile, Velocity are sitting in the second position with a resounding victory over Supernovas in their first game. The Deepti Sharma-led team will be high on confidence and would like to put on the same kind of performance against Trailblazers as well.
The MCA Stadium pitch has been always good to bat on. In the first two games played at this venue, batters have played their shots with ease. For bowlers, there has been some help initially, for pacers.
The Deepti Sharma-led team put on a clinical performance against Supernovas in their first game. Sharma impressed everyone with her leadership skills. Shafali Verma, meanwhile, did what she does best and set the tempo with her quickfire innings at the top of the order. The swashbuckling batter scored a 33-ball 51 and passed the baton to Laura Wolvaardt who finished the game.
Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on 51 off 35 balls. In the bowling department, Kate Cross, Radha Yadav, and Deepti Sharma chipped in with crucial wickets. Overall, it was a complete performance from Velocity and they will want to repeat the same against Trailblazers. The captain will avoid tinkering with a winning combination.

Trailblazer had the game in control till the first half against Supernovas. However, thighs went south quickly as they kept losing wickets in clusters. Now, with a must-win game on the cards, Trailblazers will be under the pump. Not only do they have to win this game against Velocity but also win it by a fine margin. The batters will be asked to put their hands up. The middle order, in particular, will need to put up a fight and bring a handsome win for the team. For changes in the eleven, Sabbhineni Meghana can come in for Sharmin Akhter.
