WWE's first big full-capacity pay per view (PPV) returned after 16 months when the 2021 Money in the Bank kicked off on Sunday at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship and then John Cena making a comeback turned out to be the highlights of the day.

Let's have a look at all the actions that unfolded during the 2021 Money in the Bank:

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match- The USOs vs The Mysterios: SmackDown Tag team titles were up for grabs and Jimmy and Jey Uso Came at the top to defend their titles. They trumped Rey and Dominic Mysterio to retain their title. Jey drove Rey into the turnbuckle and Jimmy assisted him on the roll-up.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Nicky A.S.H took away the briefcase while Asuka, Natalya, Tamina, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Naomi, and Zelina Vega were brawling for the case on three ladders. Nicky sneaked in unnoticed and took away the briefcase.

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Big E won the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. He beat Kevin Owens, Matt Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins, John Morrison and Ricochet.

RAW Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles and Omos retained their Titles against The Viking Raiders. Amos defeated Erik with two-hand chokeslam.

RAW Women's Championship: Charlotte Flair came on top of Rhea Ripley to win her 14th title. Flair locked Ripley in the Figure-Eight to force the tap and regain the championship.

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston outpowered Bobby Lashley to retain the title. Kingston used a series of Dominators and his signature Hurt locker a couple of times to seal the match.

Universal Championship: Roman Reigns beat Edge to retain his title. Edge was inching towards a finish but Reigns hit a spear to defend his title. Seth Rollins also aided Reign in defeating Edge.

John Cena made a surprise return to cut short Regin's winning speech. The sixteen-time World Champion has returned after a long gap. His return was much awaited and it was rumoured that WWE was intent on having Cena challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in the main event of SummerSlam next month. Cena was last seen in WWE at the WrestleMania 36 event at the Performance Center in April 2020.
