There are no second thoughts regarding Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's stature as a global star. However, more than the world of sports itself, he has now made his name as an actor. His reputation as a star is increasing everyday and although fans love to see him on the big screen, a section of the fans miss watching The Rock fight it out in the squared circle. Notably, the wrestler turned actor has been out of action since WrestleMania 29, managing a rare arrival in WWE.

And although his fans know that he has his share of obligations to fulfill at Hollywood at this stage of his career, the latest buzz around in the circuit is that he may well return to the sporting sphere at the Survivor Series. However, nothing has been confirmed from official sources yet.

WWE wants The Rock to celebrate 25 years of his debut

It is being speculated that the reason they want The Rock back at WWE is because they are eager to celebrate 25 years of him making his debut. While the prospect seems to be a mouth-watering one, whether it is possible within the tight schedule of Johnson, remains to be seen.

"There was some hope that The Rock would actually wrestle at Survivor Series. The reason why WWE wants The Rock on that show is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut. The Rock debuted in a traditional Survivor Series match in 1996," a report from WrestlingNews.co was quoted as saying.

With only reports of him doing the rounds, fans have also started to speculate who could be his opponent. The prime contender for this happens to be his cousin Roman Reigns. This is because Reigns happens to be one of the most sought after wrestlers in the world and it would be worthy of someone of the reputation of The Rock to fight him.

With yet another star John Cena on the cards to go head to head with Reigns yet again at the SummerSlam, it is only rational to anticipate Reigns vs Rock, in case Dwayne happens to agree to the prospect of a return.
