What a day for Indian cricket! A legend of the game, a great leader relieved himself from the responsibility of captaincy while far away another young leader had the privilege to don the captain’s hat for the Under 19 World Cup 2022. India’s campaign in the World Cup kicked off on Saturday with a match against South Africa U19 at Providence Stadium, Guyana in West Indies.
The Yash Dhull-led side had a troublesome start of the game as the batting team suffered a few early dismissals in the form of Haarnoor Singh (1 off 3) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (5 off 15). With two wickets down, the skipper came out on the crease and much to everyone’s expectation held the fort from one side. He kept on playing a gritty knock while wickets kept falling from the other end. Dhull led from the front and scored 82 off 100 balls but things went downhill after his run-out which came about from a brilliant piece of work from Simelane.
