The top-order batter Shikhar Dhawan is known for his positive attitude and smile over the years, despite him facing consistent challenges in his life. His celebration after taking catches has also been quite popular among cricket fans as well.
In the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022, Dhawan is featuring for the Punjab Kings and has scored 92 runs in three innings. Apart from his fine performances on the cricket field, his off-field activities in the form of reels on Instagram keep the whole team afresh after a tough match.
In a recent video posted by Punjab Kings YouTube Channel, comedian and presenter Shashi Dhiman interacted with Dhawan during the bus journey from the ground to the hotel. The top-order batter spoke at length about his different types of fans and revealed his secret of getting rejected by the girl as well in the past.
“Once I proposed to a girl and she rejected me. She used to play at that time and had a dark face tone. So, you know what I said? I told her that you have rejected the Kohinoor diamond,” Dhawan said. In response to this, Shashi cheekily replies, "today she must be crying and tucking her face in a pillow".
From 2019 to 2021, Dhawan featured for Delhi Capitals in the IPL and returned as one of the highest run-scorers for them with 521, 618, and 587 runs respectively. He played a key role to take the team to the playoffs in these 3 editions as well. In total, Shikhar Dhawan has amassed 5876 runs in 195 matches and is the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history.
In this edition, Dhawan has started the tournament well and would look to replicate similar performances for the Punjab Kings side to help them in lifting their 1st title in the tournament’s history. In their next league match, the Punjab Kings will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 10 at Brabourne Stadium.
