Kolkata Knight Riders suffered their second consecutive loss in IPL 2021 after RCB registered a thumping 38-run win over them on Sunday. The franchise have started to get under a lot of criticism for not utilizing their resources properly, something that happened even last year. Reflecting on their current form and what they can do to change their fortunes, former England cricketer Monty Panesar suggested a name of an Indian legend who he believes KKR should add in their coaching setup.

KKR should get in Yuvraj as consultant: Panesar

The 38-year-old opined that there is a bit of confusion among the players in KKR as to how to setup the innings and when to accelerate. Reflecting on this issue on Sports Tiger's Mid Wicket live show, Monty Panesar said, "If Brendon McCullum was smart, I think someone like Yuvraj Singh would be a smart move to add into their coaching staff." He added that Yuvraj could join the team as a consultant and provide valuable insights to the youngsters and help them improve their decision-making.

 Can Yuvi solve KKR's problems?

Monty Panesar added that IPL is a tournament where the teams need to be smart, strategic and adaptive to get the results. The Englishman said, "Someone like Yuvraj has won numerous games for India. That is one player KKR should tap into his services and see if that could make a difference." Panesar opined that addition of someone like Yuvraj Singh could add bit more clarity to the batting of the Knight Riders.

The former left-arm spinner concluded by saying that IPL is a platform where ex-international players are brought into coaching roles. Panesar believed when other legendary players are playing that role for other franchises, it really surprises him not to see someone like Yuvraj Singh associated with any team.
