The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is done and dusted. While the two-day event did have its own share of drama and excitement that one has come to associate with it over the years, by the end of it, the lives of many players changed. Several players were handed a contract worth an amount of sum that could change their lives for good. Meanwhile, as soon as the hammer came down, the fate of a cricketer was sealed with a particular franchise.
In this sense, many new player-franchise bonds were made. One such association came about after leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals at the auctions. Although it is not really in any player’s hand regarding which team he will play for in the competition, once his name is there in the auction list, there was still hope that Chahal might be bought back by its franchise.
However, what turned out was quite the opposite as RCB, who had earlier chosen not to retain him before the auction, did not buy him back at the auction. While it initially seemed like not a big deal as he himself had said a few days ago in a chat with Ravichandran Ashwin that he does not mind playing for any team, his recent social media activity suggests there could have been some differences between him and the RCB team management.
Chahal, in fact, liked a reel that trolled Bangalore management for spending over 10 crores on Wanindu Hasaranga. The reel showed that RCB fans punching the management for their decision to back the Sri Lankan cricketer so much.

It is imperative to note that moments after the bidding war came to an end, Chahal’s wife Dhanashree also put out a cryptic social media post that hinted that things could have been sour between Yuzi and RCB.
“Your main colour remains BLUE and I’m super proud that you always play for the team for the Country. And now we have to strike the same balance by adding a shade of pink. Also, remember that people around you know the truth and the actions taken,” a portion of her caption read.
