After being the champions in the last edition of the IPL, CSK have a lot to think about going into the mega auctions. Having retained Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK will now need to focus their attention on building their bowling lineup.

These are the 5 bowlers CSK might go for in the auction :

Shardul Thakur

A right-arm pacer who was a part of CSK in the last IPL but since only four retentions were allowed, he couldn’t find a place for himself. It would be no surprise if CSK bid high for him as he also has the ability to deliver with the bat. He can bowl in the death and also provide the crucial breakthroughs which can change the momentum of the game.

Trent Boult

An overseas bowler who is capable of wreaking havoc in the power play with his deadly swing bowling. He has the ability to swing the ball which will be crucial during the early stages of the game. Trent boult will be a hot pick in the auction and we expect Chennai to target him in the upcoming mega-auction.

Lockie Ferguson

Another specialist death bowler born in New Zealand who hits 150kmph regularly and has the ability to get the better of the batsman with his raw pace. Doesn’t concede a lot of runs and builds pressure on the opposition which often results in them going for a big shot and losing their wicket.

Vicky Ostwal

An under 19-star bowler who bowls left-arm spin can be a useful pick for CSK alongside Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali. He has picked a wicket in every under 19 World Cup game for India and has been one of the most consistent bowlers. He also helped India win against South Africa by grabbing a fifer and becoming the player of the match.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo

CSK without Bravo seems to be incomplete. A perfect all-rounder who has the power to hit the ball big and his slower ball’s can deceive the batsmen easily. He has been a crucial part of CSK for a long time now and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him back in YELLOW again.
