The ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 has been full of surprises but if there is one thing that has remained the same over the years, it has to be Pakistan's incredible performances in this competition. After defeating India, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the first three matches of this year's mega event, Babar Azam's side needed just one more win to secure their berth in the semi-finals.

And the Men in Green did not take much time to finish the task as they handed a 45-run defeat to Namibia on Tuesday to make it 4 wins in 4 matches, booking their berth in final four. While it might come as a surprise to many, it must be noted that Pakistan have been one of the most consistent sides in T20 WC history and are now set to make their 5th appearance in semis in the 7th edition of tournament.

Pakistan become first team to progress to semi-finals

After a fantastic all-round performance against Namibia, Pakistan became the first team to book their slot in the semi-finals of T20 WC 2021. Babar Azam led from the front as he continued his brilliant form at the top, scoring his 3rd half-century of the tournament. He was well supported by in-form Mohammad Rizwan who played an unbeaten knock of 79* off 50, smashing 24 runs in the final over of Pakistan innings, taking them to 189/2.

In reply, the bowlers did a commendable job as Hassan Ali, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan took 1 wicket each to restrict the opposition to 144/5 in 20 overs. Pakistani supporters were undoubtedly ecstatic with the outcome and were full of praises of the players who have played some breathtaking cricket in last few days.

While some fans claimed that Men in Green are set to win their second trophy this year, the others just could not express their happiness in words. Notably, "Boys played well" was the feeling among most of the Pakistanis on social media, who have been left awestruck with the performances of Babar Azam and Co. in UAE.
