The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) has come up with the new team Ahmedabad, whose owner is renowned Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn. In 2024, ISPL was floated by a visionary leadership group that included prominent names such as Team India legend Sachin Tendulkar, Minister of Culture Affairs of Maharashtra Ashish Shelar, and Suraj Samat. This year, ISPL has attracted more renowned figures such as Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. Ajay Devgn has become the owner of Ahmedabad while Salman will be holding the rights of the New Delhi franchise.
In a social media post, ISPL announced Ajay Devgn as Ahmedabad’s team owner. Taking to X, ISPL posted a video featuring Devgn and wrote, “When Ahmedabad meets action, it looks like this – @ajaydevgn leading the way. #ISPLT10 #Street2Stadium #NewT10Era #Season3 #ZindagiBadalLo #ISPL #DikhaApnaGame #TennisCricket.”
Sachin Tendulkar spoke on the new development in ISPL
Speaking on the new development, Sachin Tendulkar, who is a Core Committee Member of ISPL, remarked that ISPL is providing the stage to young players who are adept at playing tennis-ball cricket. “ISPL is rooted in the idea of providing a launchpad for dreams for the young and the seasoned in tennis ball cricket. The addition of new teams in the upcoming season will open doors for more aspiring cricketers across the country,” said Tendulkar.
The association of Devgn and Salman with ISPL will boost the popularity of the league. Amitabh Bachchan (Majhi Mumbai), Hrithik Roshan (Bangalore Strikers), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Tigers Of Kolkata), Ram Charan (Falcon Risers Hyderabad), and Suriya (Chennai Singams) are already team owners in the tennis-ball competition. The second season of ISPL saw the dominance of Majhi Mumbai, who won the title after beating Srinagar Ke Veer by three wickets in the final.
