The Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is finally out after BCCI Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav addressed the media on August 19. As there has been a lot of debate regarding the selection of players for the upcoming tournament, a moment also caught the attention of the fans while Agarkar and Suryakumar were answering the question during squad announcement.

Ajit Agarkar was stopped by a BCCI official to answer after a journalist asked a question related to the Pakistan Cricket team. Notably, India are scheduled to face Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14. After that, the BCCI has been getting a lot of backlash from the fans and even former Indian cricketers for agreeing to play against Pakistan.

BCCI official interrupts as reported ask question related to Pakistan

During the press conference, a journalist asked a question related to the India versus Pakistan clash in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. However, while Ajit Agarkar was answering the question, a BCCI official interrupted, signalling him to not answer the question. There has been a lots of backlash after the Asia Cup schedule was out where India were scheduled to play against Pakistan.

Notably, the tensions between India and Pakistan increased at the border after the Pahalgam attack in April followed by India’s reply with Operation Sindoor. After that, India aren’t in any ties with Pakistan. Both India and Pakistan were scheduled to play against each other in the World Championship of Legends 2025 but the match was cancelled after the Indian players refused to play the game.
