The 2025 Men’s Asia Cup concluded on Sunday, September 28 with India beating Pakistan in the summit clash by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. However, it was India’s third win over Pakistan in this year’s continental tournament with the first coming in the group stage, followed by a six-wicket win in the Super Four round.

Like the previous two matches, the finale too was marred with controversies. While it all began at toss which saw Ravi Shastri interview Suryakumar Yadav, Waqar Younis handled Salman Ali Agha in a rare incident. It followed with several others as the game proceeded. Among this was Jasprit Bumrah’s viral celebration, which saw him emulate Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf after cleaning him up.

BJP shows support to Jasprit Bumrah’s flight send-off to Haris Rauf in Asia Cup 2025 Final

Notably, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium was lit up by Bumrah’s gesture of downing an aircraft after bowling out Haris Rauf in the penultimate over of the Pakistan innings. The Indian speedster delivered a top-notch yorker that shattered Rauf’s off stump. Soon after this, Bumrah brought in the airplane gesture in what was a befitting send-off to the pacer - an act which the latter emulated during the Super Four match last week.

Just hours after the incident, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) - the ruling party in India, cheered fans with Bumrah’s antics. The political party lauded the Indian pacer’s response with the caption reading, “India thrash Pakistan in #AsiaCup2025 final! That Bumrah signal though….. #OperationSindoor”, supporting with emoticons of an airplane and others.

Not only this, soon after this incident, BJP had shared a meme post which saw Bumrah emulating the airplane gesture in half screen whereas the other half saw Haris Rauf’s dismissal portraying Indian Air Force’s attack on Pakistani terrorist camps and airbase.
