Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi targeted ex-India players in a recent interview on a Pakistan news channel. Recently, when the World Championship of Legends 2025 was played in England, where Afridi was a part of Pakistan Champions. India Champions, who starred eminent names such as Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, and Irfan Pathan, refused to play against Pakistan in the tournament on a couple of occasions. India also forfeited the semi-final contest against their arch-rivals and got ruled out of the tournament.

Recalling India’s boycott against Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends 2025, Shahid Afridi said that cricket should continue as it makes relations between nations better. “I have always said that cricket should go on; it has always helped in making the relations better between the two countries. In England, people had bought tickets to see the WCL match, and the players had practised. Then you didn’t play. What was the thinking? I just can’t understand,” remarked Afridi on Samaa TV.

Afridi went further and also took aim at ex-India players. He added, “There are plenty of issues in India. Some people reach the houses of players and threaten to burn them down. Certain players are still trying to prove they are Indian. They have been displaying this ever since being born. Now they are doing commentary in the Asia Cup.”

Tanvir Ahmed made a bold claim prior to the Asia Cup 2025 contest on Sunday

In Samaa TV’s news show, Tanvir Ahmed was also an expert along with Afridi. Tanvir made a claim that young Pakistan opener Saim Ayub will smash six maximums against star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the high-octance Asia Cup 2025 encounter on September 14. “I think Saim Ayub will hit Bumrah for six sixes in this Asia Cup,” said Tanivir.

Jasprit Bumrah’s record has been fine against Pakistan in T20Is. Appearing in five games, he has picked up five wickets at an economy of 5.42. In 2024, when the Men in Blue clinched a six-run win against the Green Army in the T20 World Cup, Bumrah got the Player of the Match (POTM) award for grabbing 3/14 figures in his four-over spell.
