On Friday, August 22, Hong Kong announced their 20-member squad for the upcoming edition of the Men’s Asia Cup, set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28. With this, Hong Kong has become the third team announce their squad after Pakistan, and India.

The side, which will be led by Yasim Murtaza, will hope to register a few upsets and make through the Super Four stage of the continental tournament. Notably, Hong Kong will hope to make an impact as they return in the continental tournament after last featuring in the 2022 edition of the tournament.

Speaking of the squad, the side have included some experienced players in Babar Hayat, Anshuman Rath and Mohammad Aizaz Khan. It also has a blend of some young and talented players including Nasrulla Khan, Kinchit Shah and Ehsan Khan with Yasim Murtaza leading the pack.

Notably, Hong Kong has been placed in Group B alongside the likes of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The Murtaza-led side will open their campaign against Afghanistan on September 9 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. They will then take on Bangladesh on September 11, followed by a match against Sri Lanka on September 15 in Dubai.
