While the Men in Blue prepare for the Men’s Asia Cup 2025, set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday, September 6 announced India A squad for the upcoming series against Australia A. Notably, the India A is set to host Australia A in two multi-day matches from September 16.

While the first match will kickstart from September 16 in Lucknow, the second match will be played from September 23 to 26 in Lucknow. The two multi-day matches will be be followed by three ODI games, scheduled to take place from September 30 in Kanpur. Prior to the tour, the BCCI announced India’s 15-member squad.

Atul Ranade to serve as India A’s fielding coach for Australia A series: Reports

India’s middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, who was last seen leading the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings in 2025 edition of the cash-rich league, will be leading the side whereas wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has been named as his deputy. However, sources close to the developments have confirmed that Hrishikesh Kantikar will continue to serve as the head coach for the A side.

Reports citing the Times of India (TOI) have also stated that former left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi has been named the bowling coach, whereas current Mumbai assistant coach Atul Ranade will be the fielding coach for the series. “Joshi and Ranade have been appointed just for the Australia A series,” the source said, as quoted by TOI.

Note: KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the 2nd multi-day match and will replace two players in the squad after the 1st multi-day match.
