After the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Men in Blue will leave for England for the highly-anticipated tour. However, the Indian men’s team will lock horns in a five-match Test series from June 20 till August 4, India A squad will take on England Lions in two four-day matches along with a practice match with the senior Indian team.

For the same, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on May 16 announced 20-member squad, with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan joining the team prior to the second match. While the side will be led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel will serve as his deputy.

Hrishikesh Kanitkar appointed India A head coach for England tour: Reports

The two will be holding the reins with Hrishikesh Kantikar likely to be appointed as India A head coach. However, an official communication on the same is still awaited from the BCCI, reports citing Cricbuzz have quoted that Kantikar will be India A’s head coach, along with Rajib Dutta as bowling coach and Joydeep Bhattacharya as the fielding coach.

Kantikar, who has played India in two Tests and 34 ODIs, boasts of 10,400 runs in 146 First-Class matches at at average of 52.26. He has previously coached Indian women’s team during the Asian Games gold medal triumph and India Under-19 team during their World Cup win in 2022. Moreover, the Indian head coach, Gautam Gambhir is set to arrive in England with the first batch of players ahead of the highly-anticipated Test series as he’ll then closely monitor the senior players from the side.

Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Dhruv Jurel (VC) (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan (WK), Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, Anshul Kamboj, Khaleel Ahmed, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan, Tushar Deshpande and Harsh Dubey.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will be available from the second match.
