Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah called out former cricketer Mohammed Kaif for making comments on his physical fitness and avoiding death overs in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. Kaif said that Bumrah prefers to bowl when his body is warmed up and don’t want to take any risk due to his fitness issues. Bumrah has taken five wickets from four matches in the ongoing Asia Cup so far at an economy rate of 7.33.
“Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at the World Cup, this could hurt India,” Mohammad Kaif wrote on X. Replying to his post, Jasprit Bumrah wrote “Inaccurate before inaccurate again.”
India to face Pakistan in Asia Cup final after 41 years
India already qualified for the final of Asia Cup 2025 with consecutive wins in the Super 4s. Now, after defeating Bangladesh on September 25, Pakistan also confirmed their spot for the title clash. This also means that India and Pakistan are set to face each other in the final of the Asia Cup for the first time in the tournament's history of 41 years.
India and Pakistan have faced each other twice in this Asia Cup where the Men in Blue have dominated the arch-rivals on both the occasions. In the group stage match, India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets, and went on to register another victory in the Super 4s by six wickets. The final of Asia Cup 2025 will be played Dubai International Stadium on September 28.
