KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be handed the responsibility to deliver fine starts to the team as openers. In the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, veteran Rahul ended up as the third-highest run-getter with 532 runs in 10 innings of five games while Jaiswal notched up 411 runs in 10 innings.
Middle-order batters: Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), and Dhruv Jurel
Sai Sudharsan couldn’t be at his best in the England series but he will be expected to be impactful in the home series. Captain Shubman Gill will look to lead the side from the front to help India have a dominating triumph over the visitors. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel might be assigned the task to keep wickets and solidify the middle-order with his batting.
All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar
Veteran Ravindra Jadeja’s role will be to deliver effective numbers to the side in all departments of the game. Jadeja, allying with Washington Sundar, will look to take advantage of the turning tracks to bolster India’s spin-bowling attack. Nitish Kumar Reddy might be given the chance in the playing XI and if he gets the opportunity, he will strive to give a tough time to the West Indies.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj
Jasprit Bumrah might be seen spearheading India’s fast-bowling unit with the assistance of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Siraj looked exceptional with the ball in England and concluded the tournament as the leading wicket-taker, bagging 23 wickets in nine innings of five contests. Prasidh Krishna also looked decent as he clinched 14 wickets in six innings of three matches.
