Anderson’s county cricket club Lancashire Cricket took to X and wrote, “Arise Sir James Anderson! A special day for @jimmy9 as he received his knighthood from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle. The greatest fast bowler to ever do it.”

Anderson who retired in July 2024, bringing down curtains on his 22-year-long cricket journey, is one of the most successful bowlers in Test cricket history. He finished with 704 wickets to his name - a record unmatched by any seamer till date. While his cricketing journey began in 2003 against Zimbabwe at the iconic Lord’s, he ended it after a Test against West Indies at the same venue.
