On Sunday, October 19, the Indian cricket team returned to the field as they kickstart their Australia tour with the first ODI, being played at the Perth Stadium in Perth. While the series proves pivotal, it is all the more important as veteran duo Virat Kohli and former skipper Rohit Sharma return after months. For the unversed, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.
After being put to bat first by the hosts, the Indian team did not have a start which was expected as Rohit Sharma departed early. Opening the innings alongside the ODI skipper Shubman Gill, Rohit fell to Josh Hazlewood in his second over. The moment occurred on the fourth ball of the fourth over as Rohit opted to edge the short of a good length from Hazlewood and Matthew Renshaw took a catch at second slip.
