Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary recently opened up about the struggles during his international career and also made a shocking revelation about former captain and legend MS Dhoni. Having played 12 ODIs and three T20Is for India from 2008 to 2015, Manoj Tiwary believes that Dhoni didn’t like him and backed his favourite players during his captaincy tenure.

Manoj Tiwary has amassed 287 runs from 12 ODI matches for India at an average of 26.09. His highest ODI score came against West Indies in December 2011 where he scored 104* runs, guiding India to 34-run win. After that, Tiwary went on to play his next ODI against Sri Lanka in July 2012 where he scalped four wickets with the ball. However, he didn’t get the backing from then captain MS Dhoni and could only play 15 international matches for India from 2008 to 2015.

I think there were a couple of individuals whom Dhoni really liked: Manoj Tiwary

In his latest interview with CricTracker, Manoj Tiwary said that MS Dhoni liked a couple of players from the team and gave his full support to them during his captaincy tenure. He also opined that Dhoni didn’t like him much which is the reason he didn’t get much chances under his captaincy.

“Everybody likes MS and obviously, he has proven over a period of time with his leadership, which I always say that his leadership qualities were very good. But somehow, in my case, I don't know. He's the only one who can answer your question. But I think there were a couple of individuals whom he really liked and gave full backing at that point in time,” Tiwary told CricTracker.

A lot of people know, but not everyone comes forward and speaks about it. So there is a very strong liking and disliking that happens in cricket everywhere. So I consider myself not liking one. He did not like me, maybe,” he further added.
