The Pakistan Cricket team has reportedly decided to withdraw from the match number 10 of Asia Cup 2025 against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). All the drama began after the India versus Pakistan clash in Dubai on September 14. Notably, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav avoided a handshake with Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha during the toss. After that, the Indian players also walked off the field without shaking hands with Pakistani players after winning the match and even closed the door of their dressing room.

After the match against India, the Pakistan Cricket team demanded suspension of match referee Andy Pycroft by alleging that he instructed both the captains to not shake hands during the toss. Interestingly, Pycroft was also appointed as match referee for the Pakistan versus UAE clash in Dubai. However, no official confirmation came yet as ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is holding a meeting at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters in Lahore.

UAE to qualify for Super 4s if Pakistan boycotts the game

With the reports of Pakistan boycotting the match going around, it can turn out to be a great opportunity for UAE. If Pakistan officially withdraw from the game, they will be knocked out from the tournament while UAE on the other hand will automatically qualify for the Super 4s stage.

However, the final decision and yet to come as PCB is still holding a meeting in Lahore and the match is also expected to get delayed by one hours if Pakistan Cricket team opts to play.
