India and West Indies are facing off in the last Super 8 match of the 2026 WT20. It is a virtual quarter-final for both these teams and the winner of this match will go to the semi-final to face England at Wankhede. India won the toss and opted to bowl first at Eden Gardens, a traditionally high scoring venue. They have gone in with the same team while West Indies made a change to the team with Akeal Hosein replacing Brandon King. Indian bowlers started off really well in the powerplay and it was a spectacular performance from the pacers early on. West Indies went wicket-less in the first four overs. Let us look at how twitter reacted to Indian bowlers getting exposed and not able to pick up wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah was brought into the attack and immediately produced a chance. Roston Chase tried to take on Bumrah and the ball went straight up in the air and Abhishek Sharma dropped a sitter. It was a huge moment in the game as Chase was on 14 and it proved to be a costly miss. Apart from that the other bowlers could not even create a chance.

West Indies were 99/1 at the 11 over mark and the game is right in the balance. Shimron Hetmyer smashed 25 off 10 and was looking in good touch as he and Roston Chase built in a good partnership and with nine wickets in hand there was a platform set.

Indian bowlers let Zimbabwe score 184 runs in the previous match and today apart from Bumrah the other bowlers have failed to pick up wickets. Taking only 1 wicket in 11 overs shows ineffectiveness and they will be keen to improve on that if they do make it to the semi-finals.
