In the third and deciding Women’s One Day International (WODI) of the series levelled at 1-1, Beth Mooney, the Australian left-handed batter, delivered a performance of the lifetime, to put her team in a very strong position against hosts India. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Beth Mooney brought up the joint-second fastest in WODI history, getting to the three-figure score in just 57 balls after hitting Radha Yadav for a four off a no-ball.

The milestone moment for Beth Mooney came in the 38th over of the Australian innings just when they hit the 300-run mark, well on their way to reaching 400-run total. Beth Mooney is now alongside fellow countrywoman Karern Rolton in joint-second place in the all-time list of the fastest hundred in WODI, behind former teammate Meg Lanning, who is No. 1 on the list, taking only 45 balls to reach the three-figure score at the expense of New Zealand in 2012.

After getting to the hundred in such quick time, Beth Mooney continued the Australian onslaught going with the bat against the Indian bowlers with Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath for company at the other end. She ended up scoring 138 off just 75 balls with a whopping 23 fours and one six in the innings before being run out by the combination of Renuka Singh and Richa Ghosh.

At the end, Australia reached 412/10 in 47.5 despite losing a flurry of wickets in the last half hour, including the one of Beth Mooney.
