There’s never a dull moment in the most special game that is cricket and in just a few months’ time, if you measure cricketing periods in terms of number of months instead of years, you’d realise there’s going to be palpable excitement and nearly boundless hype around a cricketing event that’ll be talked about pretty much in the world’s media, not just in a select few countries. And that will be most certainly about the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup that’ll be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe. And here’s what’s most excitement. Several cricket experts and distinguished personalities have already begun to talk about what could possibly be the ideal or the near to best squads for the Indian team.

Now, having said that, among those who have already shared their ideal India squad for the ODI 50 overs World Cup 2027, is a certain legend- Mr Sunil Gavaskar.

And recently, the noted cricket expert and former test cricketer Aakash Chopra has shared his perspective on what visibly looks to be a balanced squad elected by Sir Gavaskar.

However, true to his discerning and popular views, hardly any take of Aakash Chopra fails to deliver on the buzz around the game. And the former right handed batter has already shared his insights about Mr Gavaskar’s India squad.

So what are the key pointers that have now become viral over social media?

Aakash Chopra clearly mentioned the very fact given the fact that there’s no presence of Bhuvi aka Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well as Mohd. Shami, it seems that the otherwise balanced looking team that has plenty of fast bowlers and all rounders, doesn’t quite paint the picture of a whole team!

As a matter of fact, Aakash Chopra even went ahead to declare and with much respect that the so called team that seems to have been elected by Mr Gavaskar is fake and that it’s not been done by the cricket legend in the first place! Moving on, he also declared the fact that the so-called World Cup squad which was recently furnished by none other than Dinesh Karthik also seems to have been a fake squad, and that it was not elected by the former Indian cricketer himself. By the team elected by, Karthik seem to be balanced and was suited for South African conditions. It is clear that it was not Dinesh Karthik, who had elected this squad himself.

And just when you thought that this was all and that there was no more to the fake World Cup squads being elected by former and respected Indian cricketers, there is more according to Mr. Aakash Chopra. He also revealed the fact that the show called elected by former T20 World Cup winner and respected all-rounder. Irfan Pathan also is clearly fake, and that the same was not picked by the Cricketer himself.

Busting the myth 

Having said that what is clearly alarming over here is the very fact that there was also World Cup squad, which was apparently picked by Aakash Chopra himself and was carried forward as a new item by various Cricket media, all of which, according to the Cricket expert himself is fake, and that he never selected a team.
