Abhigyan Kundu is a left handed wicket-keeper batter. He was born on April 30, 2008, and represents Mumbai at the state level. He is a very safe keeper and took some stunning catches in the last game against Paksitan and a stroke maker with the bat. During this knock, Kundu broke South Africa’s Jorich van Schalkwyk’s record (145 balls) by scoring the fastest double ton in U-19 ODIs.

Kundu’s 209 is the second-highest individual score in the history of U-19 ODIs, after van Schalkwyk’s 215. But these records wont be counted officially as he achieved the feat against an associate nation ( Malaysia). The 17-year-old also went pasr Vaibhav Suryavanshi score of 171 during the earlier game against UAE in the same competition.

India were 87/3 when Abhigyan Kundu and Vedant Trivedi joined hands and stitched a partnership of 209. Trivedi missed out on a hundred as he was out for 90 off 106 while Kundu went on to score a double century in the 49th over. He brought up his knock with a six over fine leg. This knock of 209 off 125 balls, laced with 17 fours and nine sixes, as India posted a mammoth 408 for seven in their 50 over. Kundu is unfortunately not part of the IPL 2026 Auction list.
