The Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batter Abhishek Sharma has scored a blistering century off 47 balls against the Delhi Capitals. He has been in tremendous batting form as he brings up his 2nd century of the TATA IPL and he has the hold of the Orange Cap in this season. Abhishek has scored 2 half-centuries and a century for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has truly been their most consistent batter as he manages to keep the runs flowing in every game. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hopeful that Abhishek can keep his form going, as Travis Head hasn’t been quite good in this season. Their power play can only be maximised if Abhishek Sharma is able to find the boundaries early on in the innings.
Abhishek Sharma was criticised for his form in the World Cup just prior to the commencement of the IPL. The Indian opening batter was averaging below 18 in the tournament and the Sunrisers fans were worried about his form. In the first game of the IPL, he couldn’t get a big score as Jacob Duffy dismissed him with a short ball. The worries regarding his form was growing but he replied back with a slight glimmer of hope against KKR, by scoring 48. Then, there seemed to be a strange pattern as his scores were 0,74,0,59, meaning a duck was imminent after every good knock. Abhishek Sharma has put that pattern to bed with a fine century against the Delhi Capitals today.
Abhishek Sharma IPL Century List

April 21, 2026 – 135 runs (68 balls), SR 198.53 vs Delhi Capitals at Hyderabad (2026 season)
Abhishek Sharma had brought his previous century in the IPL 2025 season and that was absolute domination. He scored a massive 141 off just 55 balls, including 14 fours and 10 sixes. He was instrumental for the Sunrisers Hyderabad as he helped his side chase down a formidable total of 246 within 19 overs. The Sunrisers Hyderabad won that game by 8 wickets and Abhishek Sharma was awarded the Player of the Match award.
The rise of Abhishek Sharma in the T20 format will be majorly due to his tenure at the Sunrisers Hyderabad as his fearless approach was developed under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. With the form of Abhishek Sharma, the Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hopeful that he can win plenty of games for them.
