April 22, 2024 marked a significant day in the history of Indian Premier League, when spinning wizard Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to pick 200 wickets in the league. Chahal achieved the milestone during the Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Mumbai Indians at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Chahal entered the game on the back of 99 wickets in the tournament, and he accomplished the feat after picking Mohammad Nabi.

During the first over of the game, the former RR star achieved the feat after deceiving Nabi with his trajectory. The batter gave a simple caught and bowled to Chahal, reducing the five-time winners to 52 for 4 in 7.3 overs. Notably, Chahal joined the inaugural season winners in the 2022 edition, and won the Purple Cap after the franchise finished as runners-up after losing to Gujarat Titans in the final.

In that particular edition, Chahal picked up 27 wickets and put on a splendid display of his bowling prowess.
