India's challenging T20I tour of England brought another memorable moment in Bristol when Abhishek Sharma playfully poked fun at captain Shreyas Iyer over a mid-pitch mix-up during the fourth T20I. The stump mic picked up Abhishek's cheeky remark, "Paaji thoda jaldi karo," after a close call that almost cost India another wicket. This incident unfolded while India was struggling at 45/2 in the sixth over, following the early exits of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan. As Iyer faced Sam Curran at 5.3 overs, he nudged a slower delivery towards cover and briefly considered a quick single before deciding against it. Meanwhile, Abhishek had already dashed down the pitch from the non-striker's end, causing a bit of chaos before he managed to scramble back safely.

A direct hit could easily have ended either batter's innings and left India in even deeper trouble during a must-win game. Abhishek after somehow retreating back to his crease playfully urged his captain, β€œBrother, run fast, you only have to take two steps, meanwhile, I have to charge.”

India’s Winless UK Tour Continues, Even After 4th T20I

England wrapped up a commanding nine-wicket victory at Bristol on July 9, clinching the five-match series with an unbeatable 3-0 lead. In pursuit of 159 runs, Harry Brook dazzled with an unbeaten 79 off just 35 balls, while Phil Salt contributed a solid 59 not out, helping England reach their target in a mere 13.5 overs with 37 balls to spare. This defeat marked India's second consecutive T20I series loss, following a 2-0 setback in Ireland earlier in the tour. Before this downturn, India had enjoyed a remarkable three-year stretch without losing a T20I series, spanning 16 bilateral series and two T20 World Cups. Now, they face the daunting prospect of a potential whitewash if they fall short in the final match in Southampton.

India's batting woes reared their head once more. Archer and Josh Tongue kept the pressure on the batters with their short-pitched bowling, a challenge that had plagued the visitors throughout the tour. Sooryavanshi succumbed to Archer's bounce for the third consecutive game, while Kishan also fell while trying to counter the short ball aggressively.

In the midst of the collapse, Iyer stood out with an unbeaten 80 from 49 balls, hitting four boundaries and five sixes, accounting for more than half of India's total of 158/7. Shivam Dube's 22 was the only other score above 20. Unfortunately, the total fell short as Brook and Salt tore apart an inexperienced Indian bowling attack, leaving Iyer with yet another defeat in his winless start as India's T20I captain.
