The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma was seen at the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai for blessings ahead of the game against the Mumbai Indians. Abhishek Sharma has been in fine form over the last couple of games and it is well reflected in the results of the Sunrisers Hyderabad as well. SRH have been on a winning streak, winning 4 games on the trot. They are seated at the 4th spot in the table and considering the start they had in the season, they have done excellently well to reach this spot in the table. Abhishek has been carrying on the momentum he had generated in the T20 World Cup Finals and he has been consistent with the bat.
In the last 5 games that Abhishek Sharma has played, he has scored three half-centuries and a century. Abhishek has been a nightmare for the bowlers in the power play as he tries to score off every ball and every marginal error will be punished by his bat. His aggressive style of play has given the Sunrisers Hyderabad many explosive starts in the matches and it has laid the foundation for many huge scores. Travis Head hasn’t been able to perform as well as he would have liked but his form hasn’t affected them a lot due to the superb form of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

Abhishek’s explosive knocks headline resurgence as SRH eye fifth straight win
At the start of the IPL 2026 season, the Sunrisers Hyderabad had many concerns looming in their bowling unit as they weren’t able to execute their plans. They lost 3 out of their first 4 games and there were some serious areas of improvement. Their most notable turnaround came in the match against the Rajasthan Royals, when Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain stepped up to the occasion. The debutants dismantled the Royals batting unit and their winning run had commenced from that victory. There were some valuable additions to their bowling unit with Eshan Malinga and even Nitish Kumar Reddy taking up responsibility with the ball.
However, the reason for their sudden resurgence would be the most prolific form of Abhishek Sharma. Against the Chennai Super Kings, he had scored a quickfire knock of 59 off just 22 balls, and that helped the Sunrisers to set a score that Chennai couldn’t reach. It was the Abhishek Sharma show against the Delhi Capitals as he scored an unbeaten 135 off just 68 balls and the game was sealed in the first innings itself. It was a huge chase in the game against the Rajasthan Royals and he rose to the occasion firing a sensational 57 off just 29 balls.
Abhishek Sharma would be hoping that he can carry forward his form in the game against the Mumbai Indians as well at Wankhede. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be eyeing a victory against a struggling home side and they will fancy their chances of climbing the points table to the 3rd position.
