Adil Rashid took a stunning catch to put an end to Abhishek Sharma’s knock during the 4th T20I in Bristol. As India struggled to keep a steady start in the game, openers, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma failed to provide the acceleration needed to be in a leading position in the must win match. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was caught in a tactical breakthrough by Jofra Archer who bowled a slower ball to get the teenage prodigy. Abhishek Sharma, who then tried to stitch a partnership with skipper, Shreyas Iyer, fell in the middle overs as Adil Rashid bowled him in the sixth over. Sharma, who had only scored 16 runs, was playing on an extremely slow strike rate of 114.29.

Coming into bowl right after powerplay, Adil Rashid immediately squeezed the pressure on Abhishek, who was trying to break free after a quiet start of 2 boundaries. Rashid deliberately gave the ball some flight but pulled his length back slightly. Abhishek, known for his aggressive first-ball boundary intent, misread the drift and speed. Instead of playing with the spin or using a straight bat to loft it down the ground, he committed heavily to a violent, cross-batted heave towards the deep mid-wicket.

As the ball gripped slightly and didn't arrive as quickly as he anticipated, Abhishek swung way ahead of the delivery. The ball took a thick, towering top-edge, looping dramatically into the air directly above the pitch and the square-leg region. Skier catches are notoriously difficult for bowlers due to their running momentum, but Rashid tracked the ball flawlessly. He settled his feet near the pitch, braced himself against the swirling wind, and cleanly clasped the ball to secure a textbook caught-and-bowled

Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube steady India after early collapse

In the 4th T20I match, at Bristol, India struggled to keep a steady partnership as wickets kept falling, since the Powerplay itself. The openers Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma went for just 15 and 16 runs respectively. Although at the toss, both the skippers wanted to bat first but India could not make many runs in the start of the Powerplay after winning the toss. Ishan Kishan was later dismissed for just 4 runs by Josh Tongue, as he bowled a short ball to trick the wicketkeeper.

Shivam Dube then joined the skipper to build a partnership in the remaining overs. However, he was even sent back to the pavilion by Will Jacks. India had scored just 116 runs in 15 overs as Shreyas Iyer was still on the crease and made his half century against the relentless bowling attack of the English.

The Vice captain and the captain, tried to put on some runs on board to take it to a competitive total, but could only manage to stitch a 29-run stand. Iyer and Dube put up a 50 runs plus stand, making it the 44th 50 plus partnership for India in international T20 cricket. It was also the third slowest as it was made while scoring 7.39 runs per over. England would be glad to be in the dominating position and having already won two matches, the last one with a 125 runs margin has played a huge role in the confidence of the host nation.
