Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar who has made a rapid rise in the international circuit in the last few years noted that Indian Premier League 2026 stint with Mumbai Indians helped him work on his skills and made him a better bowler. He also had special praise for Rohit Sharma who was part of the Mumbai Indians set up. Speaking to PTI, ahead of the first ODI between India and Afghanistan, Afghan spinner AM Ghazanfar shared his IPL exposure and learnings with Mumbai Indians. Watch the video here.

Ghazanfar said "The IPL offers the pinnacle of elite coaching and world-class talent, and getting the opportunity to train and play alongside such players has been an invaluable experience. Rohit Sharma bhai is an absolute legend of the game. Watching his approach closely taught me a lot. As someone who bowls with the new ball and is working on opening the bowling for my country, I plan to make full use of the strategic insights and skills I picked up from the Mumbai Indians." He added

Allah Ghazanfar has played 5 ODIs and 11 T20Is for Afghanistan in the international circuit. Despite having a factory of spinners including Rashid Khan, the off-spinner has some mystery about him and forced his way back to the national setup. Allah Ghazanfar played 11 matches in the Indian Premier League picking up 16 wickets and was the lead spinner for Mumbai Indians in a season that had plenty of challenges for the team.

Afghanistan look to put their Test struggles behind as the ODI series beckons

It was a tough start to the tour for Afghanistan who suffered an innings and 300 runs defeat in the Only Test match against India. The match finished in three days and it was a completely dominant performance from India. However, Afghanistan have done really well in the ODI format in the last few years and they have plenty of big stars returning for this series. The first match will be played 13th June and the tour will end with two more ODIs which will be played on 17th and 20th June.
