Just who has MS Dhoni not inspired, that remains to be followed. Who have been the people whose lives haven’t been touched by this icon of our times, someone who is as successful as he is inspirational? A fine example of this was understood about the life of the incredible and incoming Indian cricket captain most recently and that too, connected to the life of a Pakistan cricketer. And that too, someone whose bowling action has perhaps made more news than his own career.

And having said that here’s the connection and a rather inspiring one between the former victorious captain MS Dhoni and Pakistan’s Usman Tariq.

Usman Tariq revealed that he once stepped away from cricket and took up a regular job, uncertain about returning to the sport. However, watching the biographical film on MS Dhoni reignited his passion and changed his perspective on perseverance.

Here's the tweet

“I used to do a job, but after watching the MS Dhoni movie, I decided to make a comeback to cricket because I realized that no one should ever lose courage,” Usman said while speaking to the press. “The way Dhoni faced difficulties in his life became a turning point for me. It made me believe that I can do it too.”

He shared that the film reminded him that setbacks are not the end of the road but part of the journey toward success. Inspired by Dhoni’s determination and calm mindset, Usman returned to training with renewed focus and discipline.

The noted Pakistani spinner emphasized that belief in oneself and consistent hard work can help overcome even the toughest phases. Usman hopes his story encourages young athletes to stay patient, trust the process, and never give up on their dreams despite challenges or delays.

Now, having said all this it remains to be seen to how long and to what extent will divided fans on either side of the border remain buried in pure absolute disregard of each other’s countries given the fact that there’s appreciation and warmth visible? As seen in this case!
