Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered a hand or finger injury while attempting to field during the IPL match against the Mumbai Indians on May 20, 2026. He had to leave the field, and substitute wicketkeeper Tejasvi Singh Dahiya temporarily took his place. On the 11th over, penultimate ball of Varun Chakravarthy, Tilak Varma played the slog sweep, although Varun called for the catch, wicketkeeper Angkrish came all the way from behind the wicket, colliding with Varun.
This resulted in the catch getting dropped, and Angkrish most probably must have injured his finger at that moment. He was subbed out in the middle of the 14th over, and Tejasvi Dahiya replaced him to take over the duty.

Winning a crucial toss, KKR sent MI to bat first and absolutely nailed the powerplay on a tricky pitch. Cameron Green first dismissed Ryan Rickelton and Naman Dhir, and then came Saurabh Dubey, claiming wickets of Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav. Dubey continued his form from the last game as he nailed the slower ones cleverly, leaving the batters clueless. The rain-stricken game was dominated by KKR as wickets kept falling and MI crumbled with 7 wickets after the game resumed.
KKR Qualification Scenario IPL 2026
KKR are positioned at the eighth spot with 11 points in the IPL 2026 table. Their major drawback is the negative NRR that might pose a threat, as four other teams, PBKS, RR, CSK, and DC, are aiming for that one spot in the playoffs. KKR needs to win both the games against MI and DC, but that alone would not strengthen their position with 15 points, as it depends on the permutations and combinations of the four other teams too.
If RR win, then KKR are eliminated, and if PBKS win, then both will be level on 15 points. If PBKS win their final match to also reach 15 points, the race comes down to Net Run Rate (NRR). KKR will need to beat DC by a massive margin to improve their NRR and surpass PBKS.
