Australia are considered to be the most lethal side when it comes to white ball cricket. From five World Cup trophies to consistent T20I series wins, the men from down under have always possessed a lot of talent and danger against their opponents. Current T20I captain Mitchell Marsh is often regarded as one of Australia’s finest cricketers when it comes to the limited overs format. Marsh has been a shining star since his U19 days and has maintained the same tempo even today. He is a regular for Australia and has put together multiple match winning performances and recently developed into a full-time and impactful captain for the Aussies. He has led his side to multiple series wins and will be eyeing his first silverware as a captain at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Let us take a look at Mitchell Marsh’s record as a captain across all the formats.
T20Is
Mitchell Marsh is a proven T20 work horse whether its international cricket or the IPL or any other T20 league across the globe. His aggressive and fearless style of batting often puts the bowler on the backfoot and gets the better of him. His first captaincy assignment came in 2023 when Aaron Finch stepped down and Australia won the series by 3-0 against South Africa. However, after a brief interval Marsh was handed complete control for the T20 setup and he went on to win 26 out of 35 games for Australia as a skipper with a win percentage of 81.30.

The 34-year-old has only chipped in as an ODI captain in the absence of Pat Cummins and Steve Smith and therefore has a win percentage of only 56.25 to show for his efforts.
