Pakistan Cricket Board have announced their One Day Squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. There have been some massive changes made to the side with the biggest being the removal of Babar Azam. There was no place for Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Nawaz and Babar Azam. The upcoming series against Bangladesh is set to begin on March 11 and it will be a three match ODI series. Shaheen Shah Afridi will captain the side and there are plenty of new comers in the ODI squad with some of the senior players being dropped. Sahibzada Farhan was also given a call up after his impressive performances in the 2026 WT20.

Abdul Samad, Sadaqat, Masood and Shamyl Hussain were part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that played against England Lions in Abu Dhabi recently. Muhammad Rizwan retains his spot as the wicket-keeper while Haris Rauf makes a comeback. Pakistan T20I captain Salman Agha has also been picked in the squad despite his poor performance in the previous event. The only notable exclusion was Babar Azam who has a very good record in ODI and Saim Ayub both of whom have an average of more than 46 in this format.

There are as many as six uncapped players in the squad. Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain have all earned their maiden call up as Pakistan look to try out new combinations for this tour.

Pakistan had just one win in the Super 8 stage and failed to qualify for the semi-finals which has brought scrutiny to many players. As per reports the PCB also fined every member of the squad for their poor performance in the WT20. Now they have decided to remove some of the senior players who failed completely in the T20 World Cup.
