The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly yet to secure a title sponsor for its home international matches and domestic tournaments after the formal bidding process did not get any satisfactory offers, forcing the board into direct talks with potential partners. The BCCI issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) on July 20, 2026, for the title sponsorship rights covering all home internationals (Tests, ODIs and T20Is), major domestic events such as the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Irani Cup, plus age-group competitions. The deadline for purchasing tender documents was August 4 with clarifications due by August 5 and final bids by August 13.
According to reports from Cricbuzz, either no bids arrived or those that did failed to meet the board’s expectations. As of late August 2026, the rights remain unsold. West Indies are scheduled to arrive in India around September 27 for the start of the home season and there is urgency to the process. The board set a reserve price of approximately ₹4.85 crore per chargeable match which is roughly 15.5% increase over the previous cycle’s rate of ₹4.2 crore per match. The new rights period runs for two years until March 31, 2028, and is expected to cover around 35 home internationals (roughly 10 Tests, 12 ODIs and 13 T20Is), though the exact number depends on the final schedule. At the base price this would generate about ₹170–171 crore for the BCCI.
Google Gemini, Spinny and SBI Life Among Brands in Talks With BCCI
Cricbuzz have reported that the BCCI is in active discussions with several potential sponsors, including Google Gemini, Spinny and SBI Life. Sports marketing agencies such as GroupM, ITW and Sporty Solutions had purchased the ITT documents, indicating early interest that did not translate into winning bids. The board is also running a parallel process for associate partner rights with a reserve price ₹95 lakh per match and the deadline is August 25, but that cannot be finalised until the title sponsor is locked in as partners cannot come from the same sector.
IDFC FIRST Bank held the title sponsorship rights from September 2023 until August 2026, paying ₹4.2 crore per match. That cycle covered a higher volume of matches (around 55–56 internationals), generating roughly ₹231–235 crore in total for the BCCI. Dream11 served as lead jersey sponsor from 2023 until the arrangement ended in 2025 following regulatory changes on real-money gaming. The BCCI is now negotiating directly rather than relying solely on the open tender.
A deal is still expected before the home season fully ramps up, though the board has not set a public deadline for concluding talks. Until a title sponsor is named, branding on match venues, broadcasts and related inventory for the upcoming series will remain open. The current rights on offer are specifically the broader home-events title sponsorship package rather than solely the jersey branding.
