The 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen some incredible six-hitting performances along with some scores exceeding 200 runs, but there have also been some fantastic fielding performances on the same stage that cannot be overlooked. Fielding plays an important role in today’s game, and just like a blistering fifty can win a game for any team, a single catch can change the tide in favor of any team. There have been some instances where teams have won or lost their matches because of their fielding performance.

There have been four standout catches from this season of IPL. The first one came from Shreyas Iyer who performed a stunning relay catch off Hardik Pandya. The next one is from Manish Pandey who performed an unbelievable one-handed screamer catch against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Then there was a brilliant wicketkeeper's catch by Rishabh Pant, and finally, there was Phil Salt who pulled off a fantastic boundary catch in the very first match of the season.

Shreyas Iyer’s Relay Catch vs Mumbai Indians

Shreyas Iyer’s effort against Mumbai Indians remains the standout fielding moment of IPL 2026. Hardik Pandya looked set to clear long-on when Iyer sprinted forward and leapt into the air to reverse-cup the ball.

With the boundary rope approaching, Iyer released the ball just in time to Xavier Bartlett, who completed the catch. Though Bartlett was credited with the dismissal, Iyer’s awareness and athleticism made the moment possible.

Manish Pandey’s One-Handed Screamer vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru

It was an outstanding save made by Manish Pandey for Kolkata Knight Riders when they faced off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Tim David struck with great power towards the backward point, and the ball seemed bound for the boundary.

But there was Pandey with lightning reflexes. Taking an amazing leap towards his left, he caught the ball one-handed just over the ground. This save had all of Tyagi, Kohli, and even Pandey's own teammates stunned.

Rishabh Pant’s One-Handed Wicketkeeping Catch vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Rishabh Pant delivered one of the season’s sharpest wicketkeeping moments for Lucknow Super Giants against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Liam Livingstone attempted a paddle shot but only managed a faint edge. Pant moved quickly to his right and completed a clean one-handed catch behind the stumps. The dismissal broke Hyderabad’s early momentum and quickly went viral.

Phil Salt’s Wonder Catch vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

The news of IPL 2026 was marked by an amazing catch taken by Phil Salt in Royal Challengers Bengaluru versus Sunrisers Hyderabad match. Kishan Ishan hit a full-toss ball very strongly toward deep backward point and seemed likely to score yet another boundary run.

However, Phil Salt ran to his right side, leaped, and successfully caught the ball with his left hand. This act prevented Ishan Kishan from scoring a hundred runs on debut as a captain.
