During the post-match interview of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he praised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for the quality of batting that he displayed. He stated that Vaibhav wasn’t just blindly slogging, but he was playing proper cricketing shots. The RCB bowling attack seemed to be clueless as he was able to find the boundary, no matter how good the ball was. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award as he scored a mind-blowing 78 off just 26 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes, striking at 300.

"Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not slogging - he is playing proper shots & for a 15-year-old, he is too matured, he deserves all the credit, “ said Bhuvneshwar Kumar. There was absolutely no doubt that Vaibhav had dominated proceedings in the game as he simply took the game away from RCB in the power play itself.

RCB fightback falls short as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s blitz seals the game early

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru had stumbled with the bat early on in the match as they lost some really crucial wickets within the first over and were in a spot of bother. However, Rajat Patidar, the skipper, managed to stay till the end and help RCB reach a commendable total. He scored a magnificent half-century and was able to hold the innings together, despite wickets falling at the other end.

Venkatesh Iyer was used as an impact sub as they lost 7 wickets for just 121 runs and were in desperate need of some runs. The RCB duo managed to take RCB past the 200 run mark with Venkatesh Iyer scoring 3 big boundaries in the last over of the innings. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished at 201 after the 20 overs, and they felt like it was a good total considering the kind of start they had to the innings.

When the Rajasthan Royals walked out to bat, the RCB bowlers knew that if they had any chance to win the game, then they had to get rid of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood with a good back-of-the-length delivery, and he nicked it straight to Jithesh Sharma. But Vaibhav Sooryavanshi belonged to a league of his own.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a good full ball to Vaibhav and he was able to make a last-minute adjustment to send it straight down the ground for four. This shot showed the world that he was here to stay. His quick reflexes to get the bat down despite his high bat lift are truly extraordinary. Even Josh Hazlewood was troubled by the 15-year-old as he cut the very first ball of his over for four and managed to score a couple more boundaries in the same over. Krunal Pandya was the bowler who managed to see the end of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, but by that time, the game had gone well out of the hands of RCB.

The Rajasthan Royals will be proud of how the teenager has been a sensational find for them, and they will be hoping he carries on his form in the coming games of the season as well. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is truly a gem of a player, and he is already making his way into the national side in no time.
