Well, it turns out that striving hard and persevering with all the might can fetch one a really long way in the realm of Indian cricket. What better way to understand this than understanding what’s just happened to the better to a certain Mukesh Kumar, in near exact fashion to his team India senior fellow- Mohd Siraj!

Since October 11, 2024, famous and talented Indian Cricketer Mohd Siraj has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana since October 11, 2024. This was a merit he earned or a distinction, you could say he bagged in recognition of his fast bowling talent that led to outstanding contributions to Indian cricket, notably following the team's historic 2024 ICC T-20 World Cup victory. This brilliant decoration was extended to the committed fast bowler by Telangana state government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This was no small feat. And something that not just the die hard cricket fans in India but even critics and followers of the game not necessarily connected to Indian sports applauded.  

However, that distinct honour of being recommended for the post of DSP now doesn’t exclusively bear Mohd. Siraj’s name. That’s due to change now. A new name that’s been added to this list is that of Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, who’s played a few tests for the country and was most recently seen in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League.

The reaction to this news, however, has been a slightly polarising one. No randomspeak this and just why does one say that in this context? While there are some fans on social media who are questioning the actual or exact credibility of Mukesh Kumar in being extended this notable or coveted decoration( their argument being that maybe he’s hasn’t served India enough thus far unlike Siraj), there are quite a few who argue that this is indeed a blessed development.

Under the Bihar Outstanding Sportspeople Direct Recruitment Rules, 2026, appointing Mukesh Kumar and Аkash Deep directly as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) is a huge statement.

Furthermore, there are some fans who have welcomed the move on the part of the Bihar government, their view being that as Mukesh Kumar is expected to tie the knot on June 24, this development is a prestigious addition to his growing CV and comes around such an important date in his life.
